2017 Chevrolet Silverado Redline Edition

Chevrolet is banking big on its Redline special edition trim that’s available to nearly every model in its portfolio. Included is the ever-popular Silverado 1500. The Redline edition adds a handful of exterior styling upgrades designed to pique consumers’ interest. “Custom” trucks are hot these days, after all, and other automakers are banking on appealing to this market niche. Ram and Toyota both debuted special models at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, with Ram bringing the Copper Sport while Toyota brought the TRD Sport trim for its Tundra. Like those two, the Chevy Silverado Redline carries an attitude of sporty intimidation.

The Redline package is available on the Silverado 1500 Double Cab with the LT Z71 trim package and the Crew Cab with the LTZ Z71 trim package. Both versions add the same stuff. This includes red tow hooks in the front bumper, red hash marks on the blacked-out wheels, a black grille, black bowties front and rear, and a red and black Silverado logo on the doors.

The world got its first taste of the Redline package last year at the 2016 SEMA show. It was there where Chevy debuted several vehicles with a concept version of the Redline package. Now, these models are arriving in showrooms for 2017.

Chevy’s VP, Brian Sweeney, said, “Redline is another example of Chevrolet bringing SEMA concepts to showrooms. The SEMA show has proven to be a great way to identify customization trends in the industry, and quickly apply those trends to our most popular Chevrolet models. Based on the strong interest Redline attracted at the show, we believe they will be very popular with customers looking for standout cars, trucks, and crossovers.

Chevy will begin rolling out these Redline models this month, with the Silverado taking the lead. The remaining models will arrive at different times throughout the year, with the rollout reaching completion by the end of 2017.
