Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake

Four years ago we first saw the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept at the Paris Motor Show. Then, two years later, we learned that the new platform that will underpin the new Panamera will support a number of different body styles, including a production version of the Sport Turismo. Just last month we got our hands on some spy shots of the base-model Panamera testing on the Nürburgring with almost no camouflage. Now, I’m happy to report that we’ve gotten our hands on some shots of the Panamera Shooting Brake as it went through the motions on the Nürburgring.

With the next generation of the Panamera set to make its debut any time now, it’s no surprise that the shooting-brake version was also spotted with almost no camo. The best part is that this lightly covered mule looks strikingly similar to the Sport Turismo Concept. While there is none of that spiral-print camo that we’re so used to seeing on test mules, there is some sheet metal overlay on the rear and the sides to help cover up some distinctive styling. Be that as it may, we still get a pretty good idea of what we’ll be seeing when the Panamera Shooting Brake makes its long-awaited debut.

So, with all of that said, let’s take a closer look at these spy shots and how it compares to the base-model we’ve already seen as well as the 2012 Sport Turismo Concept.

Updated 02/22/2017: Our spy photographers caught the upcoming Porsche Panameera Shooting Brake out for a new testing session, this time during cold winter conditions somewhere in Germany. The car is rumored to be unveiled in Geneva.
