Formula One legend Sir Stirling Moss is reportedly in stable condition after being rushed in a Singapore hospital because of a serious chest infection. According to a post on website, Moss was in Southeast Asian country in the days before Christmas when he was admitted because the infection resulted in some complications, which prevented the speediness of his recovery.
Fortunately, Moss’ condition has improved to the point that “his doctors now consider him to be in stable condition.”
The knighted Formula One racer is universally considered as the greatest Formula One driver to not have won a driver’s championship. In a career that lasted 67 races (66 starts) over a 10-year period, Moss won 16 races, finished in the podium 24 times, started from pole position 16 times, and set the fastest lap 19 times. Despite his success, Moss never won a driver’s title, finishing second four times in his career, and third another three times.
In addition to his Formula One exploits, Moss is also best known for his competitive longevity. The iconic racer, now 87 years old, only retired from motor racing in 2011 when he was 81.
At the end of the day, it’s great to hear that Moss is in good spirits after his recent health scare with the site saying that the only thing he was upset about was missing his “Christmas cruise with his friends.”
