Pagani Huayra Roadster

Pagani debuted the Huayra in 2012 as the replacement for the aging Zonda, despite the fact that the manufacturer continued to roll out special edition Zondas through 2014. The Huayra name may sound odd at first, but it is based on the God of the wind, Wayra Tata, from the era of the Inca empire. The Huayra coupe was limited to only 100 units and has been sold out since 2015, but since then, Pagani has launched the hardcore BC version and a handful of unique, bespoke models. Reports of a roadster version started circulating shortly after the coupe debuted, with initial reports claiming a release was planned for 2016. That obviously didn’t happen, but come January 2016 and the Italian firm confirmed that the drop-top supercar will make its global debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March.

Not a lot is known about the Huayra Roadster at this point, but previous reports said that Pagani isn’t planning on rolling out just a hacked-up coupe. Instead, the supercar manufacturer is said to give it a healthy power increase, make it lighter than the coupe, and give its very own chassis. We will find out whether this is true or not soon enough, but the issue here is that the coupe version was already expensive enough, and the roadster is sure to blow that out of the water. Will the Huayra Roadster be awesome enough to warrant its massive price tag? Continue reading my preview of the upcoming Huayra Roadster to find out.

Updated 01/26/2017: Pagani has dropped another teaser of the Huayra Roadster, but this time, we get to see the general design of the car. Check out the “Teaser” section below to see it and learn more about it.
