Genesis Steps Up To Take A Swing At SUVs With The Sleek GV80 Concept

So far, Genesis Motors is off to a pretty decent start. The brand was founded in 2015, launching into the luxury segment with the G90 sedan as its premium flagship model. But, as we all know, sedans will only take you so far in the current automotive market. If you really wanna make a dent, you’re gonna need something bigger, or more specifically, an SUV. Enter the GV80, Genesis’ latest concept vehicle, which just debuted at this year’s New York International Auto Show and offers us a preview of future models to come from the South Korean brand. The concept includes a variety of tasty aesthetic cues both inside and out, as well as a few hints at the latest technology that will arrive alongside them, but the most interesting thing about this concept is its plug-in hybrid fuel cell powertrain, a feature Genesis promises it’ll include in forthcoming models.

Unfortunately, Genesis doesn’t elaborate on the particulars of this unusual engine setup, so we’ll just have to wait until the next concept for further details. Still, there’s a few interesting tidbits worth picking apart here, namely the way the concept looks, what it brings to the table in the luxury SUV segment, and how it plans on coddling its passengers. And, more importantly, how much of this concept gloss is expected to actually make it production?

Interested? Read on for the details.
