Volvo XC60

The Volvo XC60 has been around since 2008. It did take an update that was shown at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, which brought some new exterior design cues, a little interior attention, and some new safety features. It’s been three years since the last update, and we’ve been expecting to see the next-gen model, but that has yet to happen – until now. Just recently, our photographers caught the next-generation XC60 prototype testing in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, the prototype in the pictures is very heavily covered to block just about every identifying design cue.

With that said, we don’t have a whole lot to go by, but this is the first time we’ve seen the XC60 testing, so it is still in the embryonic stages of testing. Either that or Volvo is planning a really wild design that it doesn’t want to disclose just yet. The model is planned for a 2017 debut, but when in 2017 is far from known. Until that happens, let’s take a look at the photos that we do have, and speculate a little on the upcoming model.

Update 03/01/2017: We recently saw the upcoming Volvo XC60 testing under heavy camo and padding, and have heard little information about it since. But, Volvo has finally released a series of teaser images and some information regarding some new safety systems. Join me in the special update section below to learn all about it.
